Expen Help
Expense Help™ Reports will be the most powerful tools used to determine your spousal and child support by clearly and effectively showing your financial need.
Expense Help™ is Divorce Help's proprietary sofltware which takes your personal financial data from Quicken® and creates financial reports (see example) that clearly show your historical monthly spending. It calculates your portion of average monthly spending (separating it from that of your spouse), and offers several formatting choices for you and your attorney.
Expense Help™ saves valuable time, creating reports with saved preferences in seconds. Inevitably these reports will need to be run more than once. Your attorney can ask for changes until they are just as he wants to see them. Your spouse may delay proceedings and you will need up-to-date information. Expense Help's time savings mean fewer hours that need to be billed.
Your Expense Help™ Reports will be produced in MS Excel® , which offers a multitude of powerful analysis tools. You, your attorney, and your spouse's counsel will each receive a copy of these reports on a CD in two formats: MS Excel® , and HTML, which you can view on any browser. You will receive these same reports on paper, as well as be able to view the latest version on Divorce Help'ssm Web site.
In addition to your expense reports, Divorce Help will create income reports for both you and your spouse, balance sheets for the last three years and as of the date the legal professionals decide for your financial separation, and rental income expense reports for any rental properties you may have.
Supporting Documentation
Do you cower at the thought of trying to dig up all your bank statements and cancelled checks from your files and piles?
Your former spouse and his counsel will likely request supporting documentation for the electronic records and reports you give them. After all, anyone can change numbers in Quicken® files and spreadsheets and make it say anything she wants.
Obtaining all your "discovery" documentation is one of the most time consuming, overwhelming, and frustrating tasks of divorce. And you are required to gather this documentation in one of the most devastating times of your life. Divorce Helpsm will do it for you, all at our lower Bookkeeping Assistant rate.
Different banks have different policies regarding fees for obtaining copies of bank statements, cancelled checks, and deposits. If your account is considered premium (banks have different names for these accounts), many of these fees are completely waived. You have the choice of supplying Divorce Helpsm with the statements and copies you have, having us only order the missing records, or having Divorce Helpsm order all the records for you.
Divorce Helpsm then organizes your supporting documentation. Each state's court system has its own mandatory disclosure requirements. Divorce help will organize these into comb bound booklets for you which will include a table of contents and index tabs, as well as any other exhibit booklets your attorney wants. Copies of these booklets go to you, your attorney, the opposing counsel, and the judge, arbiter or mediator. You will also receive two file boxes containing professional and organized files for all of your mandatory disclosures, files for all documents in your exhibits, files for each of your Divorce Help reports, expanded files for your disclosures and exhibits booklets, and even files for you to organize all your attorney correspondence, attorney billing, settlement statement, parenting plan.... You will be surprised how often you will need to go back to this over the years after your divorce.
Get organized and you will feel empowered.

Graphs and Charts
Your Expense Help Reports will be produced in MS Excel®, which have powerful analysis tools. Your attorney or divorce CPA may have certain data prepared in graphs, charts, and pivot tables he likes to see or use as evidence. Divorce Helpsm will create any graph, chart or pivot table your attorney requests from your data and/or your former spouse's data given to us. We are your Excel experts.

Sworn Financial Statement
Ultimately, everyone going through a divorce must fill out a Sworn Financial Statement (seeexample), sometimes called a Financial Affidavit. Every state has its own version of this mandatory document. It is used to determine spousal support (also called "alimony" or "spousal maintenance") and child support as well as the division of assets.
Divorce Helpsm will fill this form out electronically, from the output from the Expense Help™ reports, as well as from information you provide from your Client Profiles. Filling out documents electronically is efficient because edits typically need to be made, and you don't have to rewrite the entire document. It is the client's responsibility to verify the accuracy of the contents of this document before signing and submitting it.
